New Haven, Conn. - Senior Olivia Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.) of the women's basketball team has been named as the Albertus Magnus Female Student-Athlete of the Week. Initiated in September, 2017, the 'Athlete of the Week' program recognizes one female and one male student-athlete each week for demonstrated excellence on the playing field.
Bolden averaged 23.3 points and 14.3 rebounds while shooting 57.1 percent (28-49 FG) in a 21 week for the Falcons. She began the week scoring 24 points and posted a season-high 21 rebounds in a win over Mount Ida. The senior forward registered a career-best 35 points, nine rebounds, a game-high three steals and two assists in a road win over Rivier before concluding the week with a 11-point, 13-rebound double-double in the loss to Suffolk.
Albertus Magnus returns to the court on Tuesday, Jan. 16 as the Falcons host in-state foe Saint Joseph's (Conn.) at 6 p.m. in a GNAC home clash.
