New Haven, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College Athletic Department and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) teamed up with the Dominican Mission & Ministry to help collect non-perishable food items for the Centro San Jose Family Center in New Haven, Conn.
The Thanksgiving Food Drive ran from Monday, November 13 to Friday, November 17th as part of Albert Week here on campus. Albert Week is a time to honor Saint Albert the Great and help promote the four pillars: study, prayer, community and service.
The athletic teams collected over 200 food items such as canned meat and soups, stuffing, gravy, canned fruit and vegetables, etc. and delivered the items to the center.
Centro San José Family Center, funded by the Community Foundation of Greater New Haven and the United Way of Greater New Haven, provides services to parents and caregivers designed to improve the school readiness and success of young children.
