    The Albertus Magnus College Men's Baseball Program had three players selected to the GNAC All Conference team. Senior Utility player Erik Suraci (West Haven, CT) was named to the First Team All-GNAC.
  • Falcons Drop Double Header to Suffolk

    West Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Baseball Program dropped both games of a Double Header with GNAC opponent Suffolk University on Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons had an apparent 2 run homerun called back in the first inning only to score two runs in the bottom of the first to take a 2-0 lead. The Falcons faltered defensively throughout the day resulting in several unearned runs in both games.

    Standish, ME - The Albertus Magnus College Baseball Program dropped a pair of Double Headers 4-0, to host St. Joe's (ME) on Sunday at 12:00 pm. The Falcons fought hard in both games receiving strong complete game pitching performances from junior southpaw Charles Chancio (Oxford, CT) and sophomore Cullen Burnell (Litchfield, CT) who each gave up four runs over the course of sixth innings.

  • Falcons Comeback Falls Short in Ninth 11-10

    West Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Baseball Program suffered another heartbreaking loss as their ninth inning rally came up short against visiting Mount Saint Mary's College 11-10. The Falcons took an early lead in the game on an inside the park three-run homerun by senior Cameron Giordano (Hamden, CT) and a long solo-homerun by junior Kyle Calechman (North Haven, CT) to make the score 4-0 through four innings.
  • Falcons Drop Double Header to Johnson and Wales

    Providence, RI - The Albertus Magnus College Baseball Program dropped both games of the GNAC Double Header to host Johnson and Wales University on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons staged a late comeback in Game One, only to have a baserunning miscue end the rally. Game One featured junior southpaw Charles Chancio (Oxford, CT) pitching six innings giving up five runs (four earned) while scattering six hits and striking out nine. Albertus wasted no time scoring two runs in the top of the first only to allow Johnson and Wales to score three runs in the bottom half of the inning, making the score 3-2.

    Northfield, VT - The Albertus Magnus College Falcons dropped both games of the GNAC Double Header to host Norwich University on Saturday. The Falcons left 24 runners on base over the course of the afternoon squandering several scoring opportunities. Game One featured a sophomore righty Cullen Burnell (Litchfield, CT) pitching all six innings giving up sevens runs, six earned while striking out seven.

    West Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Baseball Program suffered a 24-9 loss at the hands of Westfield State on Thursday afternoon. The Falcons were playing their fourth game in as many days with two GNAC Double Headers over the weeked still on the horizon. The Falcons struggled to find the strike zone issuing 12 walks and hitting two batters.
  • Falcons Soar to 17-11 Win Over Mitchell College

    West Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Baseball Program cruised to a 17-11 victory on Wednesday night. The Falcons scored five runs in the second and third innings to take a 10-1 lead. Senior Erik Suraci (West Haven, CT) went 4-6 and had six RBI on the day missing a homerun for the cycle.

    The Albertus Magnus College Baseball Program has changed the game time from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm due to a scheduling conflict at Quigley Stadium. The Falcons are set to take on Mitchell College at 7:00 pm.

    Hartford, CT – Freshman 3B Stephen Rogers (Watertown, MA) went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and four runs scored to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 14-4 win over the visiting Albertus Magnus College Falcons in baseball action this afternoon. Trinity, ranked No. 4 in New England and No. 9 in the nation, improves to 11-3, while the Falcons falls to 7-13, 4-2 GNAC.

    West Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Baseball Program won it's third straight game with a 9-4 victory over visiting SUNY Purchase. The Falcons even the season series 1-1 after losing 14-4 at Purchase earlier in the season.

    Waltham, MA - The Falcons swept both games in a double header at GNAC opponent Lasell College on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons won game one 4-3 and won game two 5-1. The Falcons improve to 6-12, 4-2 GNAC as they head into a week that features nine games in just seven days. Albertus again received strong starting pitching performances.

    New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Falcons dropped a 23-1 decision to visiting Worcester State College on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons struggled on the mound walking 14 hitters and utilizing six pitchers on the day. The windy day featured five Worcester State homeruns. The Falcons were led by senior third baseman Peter Rogan who went 2-4 on the day.

The Falcons received another outstanding starting pitching performance, this time from freshman righty Matt Finkenzeller (Wolcott, CT) who went 8 innings giving up three runs (two earned) scaterring five hits.

    New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Baseball Program took both games from visiting Newbury College on Saturday afternoon at Quigley Stadium. The Falcons received two complete games from their starting pitchers winning both games to improve to 2-8, 0-0 GNAC on the young season.

    The Albertus Magnus College Falcons dropped a 14-4 decision to host SUNY Purchase on Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons threatened in the top of the second inning loading the bases with one out before failing to plate a run. Freshman starter Jim Stanley (North Haven, CT) through three innings of no hit baseball before Purchase scored seven runs in the third to pull away.
  • Falcons Gain Valuable Experience on Spring Trip

    The Albertus Magnus College Men's Baseball Team gained valuable experience on their spring break trip. Despite their 0-7 record, Head Coach Brian Leighton felt that the trip will prepare the Falcons for the rest of their season.     The Albertus Magnus College Men's Baseball Program will open their season this Saturday in Yaphank, NY at Baseball Heaven against Eastern Connecticut State University at 2:00 pm. The Falcons finished in third place in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference last season after hosting a play-off game for the first time in eight seasons. Head Coach Brian Leighton is looking forward to the 2010 campaign. "This is the most talented team I have had in my six years at Albertus Magnus College. We expect to be playing for the GNAC title on May 2nd," stated Leighton.

    The Albertus Magnus College Baseball team was about progress and growth. The Falcons started out 1-11 on the season but ended up 15-18 including finishing the regular season with a 7 game winning streak and hosting a play-off game for the first time in 8 seasons.
