Winthrop, Mass. - For the third time this season, senior Andrew Scully (Stratford, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College baseball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week following his performance in last week's contests for the Falcons.
Scully enjoyed a huge offensive weekend, hitting .545 (6-11) with four homers and a double for a 1.727 slugging percentage (2.370 OPS). He had six runs and seven RBI as the Falcons went 2-2. In a doubleheader sweep over Rivier, Scully was 3-of-6 with three runs, two RBI and two home runs. Scully wrapped up the week with a 3-of-5 performance against Lasell with three runs scored, five RBI and two home runs. He also recorded his 100th career hit in the win over Rivier.
Albertus Magnus clinched the No. 6 seed for the GNAC posteason play and will face the No. 3 seed Lasell College in a single-elimination, first round contest at Campbell Stadium in Brockton, Mass. on Tuesday, May 2 at 7 p.m.
