New Haven, CT- On Thursday night, The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball Team rebounded with an 88-79 win over Mount Ida College. The Falcons lead by as much as 17 in the first half and took a 50-45 lead into the break. The Falcons battled through the second half as freshman center Jefferson Lora scored a game high 34 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to go along with six blocks in the game. The Falcons wore down Mount Ida and used a pair of 6-0 runs late in the second half to pull away and earn the 88-79 victory. The win keeps Albertus tied for first place in the GNAC as they improve to 8-4, 4-1 GNAC on the season. Mount Ida College drops to 8-4, 3-2 GNAC on the season. Sophomores Ray Askew (Hamden, CT) and Byron Reaves (Hamden, CT) both chipped in 15 and 12 points respectively. Mount Ida College was lead by senior guard Darren Martinez (Dorchester, MA) and his team high 20 points. The Falcons look to stay in first place as they travel to Rivier College on Saturday for a 1:00 PM tip-off.
