New Haven, CT - On Tuesday night the Albertus Magnus College Falcons lost a hard-fought battle late in the second half to visiting Western CT State 108-96. The Falcons trailed 57-41 at the half but battled back to tie the game with eight minutes left in the second half to tie the game at 76-76. There were many lead changes in the last few minutes as the Falcons fought back but Western CT pulled away on an 8-0 run with three minutes left in the game to seal the victory. Western CT State was lead by sophomore DaQuan Brooks (Bristol, CT) and his game high 39 points. Albertus was led by sophomore Ray Askew's (New Haven, CT) team high 29 points and seven rebounds to go along with sophomore guard Byron Reaves's (Hamden, CT) 18 points and six rebounds. Albertus Magnus College drops to 1-1, 0-0 GNAC while Western Connecticut State improves to 3-1, 0-0 LEC on the young season. The Falcons host Coast Guard Academy on Sunday with a 1:00pm tip-off.
