New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball team cruised past Great Northeast Athletic Conference opponent Emmanuel College 82-63 on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons used a balanced scoring attack with four players scoring in double figures and a 10-1 run in the second half to secure their second win in the GNAC and first place going into the break.
Albertus went on a 10-1 run begining at the 13:33 mark making the score 61-43 and the Falcons never looked back. Freshman forward Darius Watson (New Britain, CT/New Britain) scored a game high 18 points while junior forward Ray Askew (New Haven, CT/Career) had a game high 15 rebounds to go along with 13 points.
Emmanuel was led by sophomore guard Michael Malhot (Norwich, CT/Norwich Free Academy) and his team high 11 points.
The Falcons 4-3, 2-0 GNAC enter the break in first place and remain the only unbeaten team in conference play remaining while Emmanuel drops to 2-5, 1-1 GNAC on the season.
Albertus returns to action on Monday January 3, as they travel to Western Connecticut State University for an 8:00 pm tip-off.
