New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball team defeated visiting Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Lasell College 91-76 on Thursday night. The Falcons never trailed in the second half and took a 51-41 lead into halftime.
Albertus used a balanced scoring attack with four players scoring in double figures including junior forward Ray Askew (New Haven, CT/Career) who had a team high 22 points and a game high 15 rebounds. Sophomore guard Arshad Jackson (Hartford, CT/Hartford Public) added 15 points while sophomore center Jefferson Lora (Bronx, NY/Lyman Hall) add 14 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman forward Darius Watson (New Britain, CT/New Britain) added 11 points.
Lasell College was led by junior forward (Mattapan, MA/Cathedral) and his game high 29 points and team high 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Sean Bertanza (Seymour, CT/Trinity Pawling) added 20 points.
Albertus improves to 9-8, 7-3 GNAC while Lasell College drops to 4-13, 3-7 GNAC.
The Falcons travel to GNAC opponent St. Joseph's College (Maine) in a key conference match up on Saturday for a 3:00 pm tip off.
