New Haven, CT - Sophomore guard Arshad Jackson (Hartford, CT/Hartford Public) scored a game high 26 points on 7-12 shooting including 5-6 from beyond the arc as Albertus Magnus defeated visiting Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opponent Mount Ida College 96-78 on Tuesday night.
The Falcons lead by double digits the vast majority of the contest including 52-38 at the half.
Albertus used a balanced scoring attack as four starters scored in double figures including junior forward Ray Askew (New Haven, CT/Career) and his 20 points and game high nine rebounds. Senior guard Walden St. Juste (Hartford, CT/Bulkeley) added 17 points while freshman guard Darius Watson (New Britain, CT/New Britain) chipped in 14 points on the night.
Mount Ida College was led by junior guard Isiah Benjamin (Windsor, CT/The Master's School) and his team high 22 points. Junior guard David Gibbs (East Hartford, CT/The Master's School) had a game high nine rebounds and 12 assists to go along with seven points.
The Falcons improve to 12-9, 10-4 GNAC while Mount Ida College drops to 7-14, 4-10 GNAC.
Albertus travels to GNAC opponent Rivier College on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
