New Haven, Conn. – Former Albertus Magnus College men's basketball standout Victor Ljuldjuraj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) recently capped off a successful professional season by earning the Bosman Player of the Year award in the Ukrainian Superleague.
During his first season with Hoverla Ivano-Frankivsk of the top basketball league in the Ukraine, Ljuldjuraj averaged over 14 points and 10 rebounds per game. He appeared in 16 games overseas and led his team in both field goal percentage, hitting over 60 percent of his attempts from the field and blocks, swatting just under two shots per contest.
Along with being tabbed as the Bosman Player of the Year award, Ljuldjuraj also received Second Team All-Ukrainian Superleague honors. He was one of two players from his team to earn league-wide distinction.
In total, Ljuldjuraj registered 10 double-double during the season, highlighted by accomplishing the feat in seven of his final eight games. He scored a season-high 24 points in a 79-65 triumph against BC Khortytsia on November 27. Later in the winter, he pulled down a season-best 19 rebounds and added 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting in a setback versus Politekhnika-Halychyna.
In 2014-15 with AMC, the 6-8 center was chosen as a D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region First Team member and earned a spot on the West Roster for the 2015 NABC Reese's Division III College All-Star game. In that contest, he was named the game's Most Valuable Player.
Last year, Ljuljdjuraj was also named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Year as well as the Defensive Player of the Year. He also earned a spot on the GNAC All-Conference First Team and was named the GNAC Tournament Most Valuable Player. He earned All-Tournament Team accolades as well.
