Watch the Falcons Live in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament
The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball Team will face DeSales at 7:00 pm on Saturday night in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. The Falcons look to continue their season after defeating No. 7 William Patterson in dramatic fashion as sophomore guard Byron Reaves (Hamden, CT) sank a half-court shot at the buzzer to win the game 57-55.

Reaves Sinks Half-Court Shot at Buzzer to Win 57-55 over No. 7 William Patterson
WAYNE, N.J. - Sophomore Byron Reaves (Hamden, CT) sank a shot from half-court as time expired to lift Albertus Magnus (23-6) to a stunning 57-55 upset of No. 7 William Paterson (25-3) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament March 5 at the Pioneers' Rec Center. The Falcons advance to the second round Saturday, March 6, at 7:00 p.m. at WPU and will face DeSales, a 72-64 overtime winner against MIT in the night's other first-round game.

Falcons Win GNAC Championship Over Emerson 85-69 St. Juste Named Tournament MVP
New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball team finished the season the way they started it, number one. The Falcons were picked preseason number one and finished their season with a regular season and post season GNAC Championship. The Falcons trailed by one with 4:14 remaining in the first half when they went on a 14-0 run going into halftime leading 38-28. The Falcon's number one ranked offense was firing on all cylinders as they led by a minimum of eight points the rest of the game. Junior guard Walden St. Juste (Hartford, CT) was 11-17 from the field scoring a team high 35 points. Sophomore forward Ray Askew (Hamden, CT) added a double double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Emerson College was led by senior guard Jeremy Shannon (Lowell, MA) and his team high 21 points and 12 rebounds. Emerson College finishes their season 20-8, 15-3 GNAC. The Falcons improve to 22-6, 15-3 GNAC as they receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Shannon and senior forward Bryan Rouse (East Greenwich, RI) were named to the All-Tournament Team. Askew was named to the All-Tournament Team while St. Juste was named All-Tournament Team and MVP. Albertus Magnus will receive word Monday afternoon regarding their seeding in the NCAA Tournament.

Falcons Advance to Finals in Exciting Fashion 78-76
New Haven, CT - On Thursday night the Albertus Magnus College Falcons defeated visiting Johnson and Wales University 78-76 to move on to the Finals Saturday. The Falcons trailed 28-24 at the half and struggled to find their usual rhythm. The second half was a different story for the Falcons as they used 7-0 run to tie the game at 36-36 with 14:59 remaining in the second half. The game continued to go back and forth until Johnson and Wales took a 62-55 point lead with 5:26 remaining.

St. Juste Leads Falcons to Playoff Win Over Rivier 80-61
New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball Team used a 10- run midway through the second half to secure an 80-61 victory over visiting Rivier College. The Falcons were lead by junior guard Walden St. Juste (Hartford, CT) and his game high 30 points. Freshman center Jefferson Lora (Bronx, NY) added a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Falcons Clinch GNAC Regular Season Title with 77-63 Win
The Albertus Magnus Falcons (19-6, 15-3 GNAC) used two second half runs to defeat the Suffolk University Rams (6-19, 2-16 GNAC) 77-63 on Saturday afternoon as both teams finished the 2009-10 regular season. Sophomore forward Ray Askew (New Haven, Conn.) lead all scorers with 22 points and all rebounders with 21, finishing the season as the best rebounder in the GNAC. Albertus outscored the Rams, 42-25 in the game's second half, highlighted by an incredible half by Askew who had 15 points and 16 rebounds in the game's final twenty minutes. Freshman forward Matt Pepdjonovic (Quincy, MA) led Suffolk with a team-high 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Rams.

Falcons Earn Dramatic Win Late in Second Half 91-85
New Haven, CT- On Tuesday night, The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball team used a late second run to earn a 91-85 win over visiting Johnson and Wales University. The Falcons trailed 40-35 at halftime with leading scorer Ray Askew with only three points. Albertus trailed 63-51 with 11:03 remaining in the game. Ray Askew's (Hamden, CT) three-point play capped an 11-2 run to take the 83-77 lead with 2:44 remaining.

Falcons Drop Heartbreaker to Rivier College 79-78
New Haven, CT- On Saturday afternoon, the Falcons dropped a heartbreaking loss to visiting Rivier 79-78. Albertus Magnus trailed 79-78 with time for one last play when freshman guard James Economopoulos's (Wallingford, CT) three pointer rattled in and out as the buzzer sounded handing the Falcons their second loss in as many games. Albertus led 45-41 at the break closing out the half on a 5-0 run.

Falcons Have Ten Game Win Streak Snapped 65-62
Newton, MA - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball Team saw their ten game winning streak snapped as they were edged by Mount Ida College 65-62. The Falcons trailed 37-30 at halftime shooting just 2-11 from beyond the arc. Albertus opened up the second half on an 11-4 run to tie the score at 41-41 with 15:38 remaining following junior guard Walden St. Juste's (Hartford, CT) three point basket.

Falcons Earn Dramatic 70-68 Win Over Emerson College
BOSTON, MA - Sophomore forward Ray Askew (New Haven, CT) hit a layup with 22 seconds left to rally Albertus Magnus from a 26 point second half deficit and defeat Emerson 70-68 in a battle for first place in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. The Falcons trailed 42-25, going into the half shooting just 1-7 from beyond the arc. The Falcons continued to struggle early in the second half trailing 54-28 with 14:00 minutes remaining. Askew scored the Falcons' next eight points with Emerson only managing a free throw by senior guard Jeremy Shannon (Lowell, MA).

New Haven, CT- On Thursday night, The Falcons won their ninth straight game in a 75-62 win over Emmanuel College. The Falcons held a 44-33 lead at halftime and didn't trail in the second half. Albertus featured a balanced attack with four scorers in double figures including sophomore forward Ray Askew's (Hamden, CT) game high 16 points and game high 18 rebounds.

Falcons Win Seventh Straight Remain in First Place in GNAC
New Haven, CT - On Saturday afternoon, the Albertus Magnus College Falcons won 81-76 late in the second half to remain in first place in the GNAC. The Falcons found themselves trailing 49-40 at halftime as St. Joe's (ME) ended the first half on a 9-0 run. Albertus responded with an 8-2 run to open the second half cutting the lead to 51-48. The game was back and forth until the Falcons went on a 9-2 run with 6:53 remaining in the game to take a 79-70 lead with 3:30 left in the contest.

Falcons Soar to Sixth Straight Win and First Place in the GNAC
Newtown, MA - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball Team won it's sixth straight game 85-75 over host Lasell College on Thursday night. Lasell held a 33-32 lead at half time in a game that was close until late in the second half. The Falcons used a 15-3 run to seal the victory over GNAC opponent Lasell and secure sole possession of first place in the GNAC. Albertus was led by sophomore forward Ray Askew (Hamden, CT) and his 28 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists.

Freshman center Jefferson Lora (Bronx, NY) was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week. Jefferson was an impressive inside force for the Falcons in a 2-1 week. He had 34 points, 17 rebounds, and 6 blocks in a 88-79 win over Mount Ida College.

Standish, ME - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball Team overcame a 39-30 half time deficit to soar past GNAC opponent St. Joe's (ME) 78-66 on Monday night. The Falcons struggled to find their rhythm but used a pair of runs to ignite a double digit lead with 3:23 to go and never relinquished it. Albertus opened the first half with a 5-0 run eventually tying the game on a three-pointer from freshman guard Arshad Jackson (Hartford, CT) with 12:52 remaining in the second half.

Askew continues to be an impressive force for the Falcons, scoring 34 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in helping them remain unbeaten in the GNAC with a 92-87 win over Norwich University.
