Men's Lacrosse Picked to Finish Ninth in GNAC Preseason Poll

Winthrop, Mass. - The Albertus Magnus College men's lacrosse team was picked to finish ninth in the 2018 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll. The poll, which was released on Wednesday afternoon, is voted on by the league's 10 head coaches.

The Falcons, who ended 2017 with an overall record of 3-12, earned 15 points along with 10-place Annda Maria. Lasell sits atop the poll after receiving seven of a possible 10 first-place votes for 97 points.

Johnson & Wales finished second in the poll to the Lasers with 83 points and a first-place nod. Norwich claimed third with one first-place tally and 79 points while Mount Ida came in at No. 4 with the last first first-place vote and 77 points. And rounding out the top five is Emmanuel (Mass.) with 54 points.

Behind the Saints in sixth place with 53 points is Saint Joseph's of Maine followed by Regis (Mass.) in seventh with 39. Rivier earned 38 points to finish ahead of the Falcons.

Founded in 1995, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 13 member institutions and nearly 4,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Each year, the GNAC sponsors and administers 20 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunities and community involvement.
