Falcons Win Sixth Straight 4-1 Over Mount Ida College

New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Soccer Team has not lost a game since their first game of the season as defeated Mount Ida College 4-1 this afternoon.  Albertus took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a goal from junior forward Jamal Howard (West Haven, CT) as he finished a corner kick from sophomore midfielder Steven Zapata (Hamden, CT).  The Falcons went into halftime outshooting their opponents 16-2.  Albertus would take the lead 2-0 off the leg of Zapata (Hamden, CT) in the 59th minute of play as he finished a cross from sophomore forward Alphonse Buccitti (West Haven, CT).  Freshman midfielder Zach Campbell (East Haven, CT) found the back of the net in the 73rd minute on a blast from 35 yards away to make the score 3-0.  Mount Ida received it only offense of the day as senior defender Justin Murphy (Holbrook, MA) finished a Penalty Kick in the 79th minute.  The Falcons would score another goal on a rebound finish in the 88th minute off the leg of freshman forward Rafael Guillen (Bakersfield, CA) to make the score 4-1.  Albertus outshot their opponents 31-6 in the afternoon as they cruised to their sixth straight victory.  The Falcons improve to 6-1, 2-0 GNAC while Mount Ida College drops to 0-6, 0-2 GNAC.  Albertus travels to New London, CT on Wednesday afternoon to take on Mitchell College at 4:00 pm.
