The Albertus Magnus softball team lost by international tiebreaker rules in the eighth inning by a score of 4-3 to Mt. St. Vincent on Tuesday afternoon in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The score of the ballgame after seven complete innings was 3-3 before international tiebreaker rules put a runner on second base to begin the extra frame. Mt. St. Vincent was able to capitalize on the extra runner and took the 4-3 victory.

In the contest, Melissa Manning (Milford, Conn.) recorded a double, her first of the season, while both Rebecca Slivinsky (Plainville, Conn.) and Brittney Urciuoli (Newington, Conn.) added base hits for the Falcons.

Danielle Thuerling (Wallingford, Conn.) made her first collegiate start for the Falcons but took the loss as Albertus evens its record to 1-1 on the year.
