Saint Joseph used 10 hits to score three runs en route to a 3-2 victory over the Albertus Magnus softball team in game two of the Friday night doubleheader.
The Blue Jays scored two runs in the top of the fourth then the eventual game winner in the sixth. With the loss, the Falcons fall to 10-12 on the year and 3-7 in league play.
In the fourth, an error by an Albertus outfielder allowed two runs to score before the Falcons cut into the Saint Joseph lead with a run in the bottom of the frame. Isabel Lopez (West Haven, Conn.) reached on an error before scoring on an RBI single by senior Danielle Figueroa (Bridgeport, Conn.).
In the top of the sixth, a base hit by Emily Hummel plated the Blue Jays' third run. Albertus matched the run in the bottom of the inning as Brittney Urciuoli (Newington, Conn.) scored on a Saint Joseph error.
Patty Sciglimpag threw a three hitter for the Blue Jays as she gave up no earned runs and struck out eight batters.
Jackie Medina (Bridgeport, Conn.) took the loss for the Falcons as she allowed 10 hits and three walks. She struck out three and did not give up an earned run.
