The Albertus Magnus softball team fell to Rivier University 5-0 in game two of the Saturday afternoon doubleheader.
With the win Rivier evens its record at 15-15 on the year and improves to 11-9 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. Albertus moves to 13-22 overall and 6-15 in league action.
Rivier tallied two runs in the opening inning, one in the third and one in the fifth to take a 4-0 lead after five.
Nicole Peacock and Hillary Tarr each recorded multiple hits for the Raiders in the contest. Marissa Mercier finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Taylor Miller picked up the shutout as she allowed six hits and struck out six in the victory.
Amanda Green (Shelton, Conn.) gave up two runs in the opening frame before leaving the game. Jackie Medina (Bridgeport, Conn.) took the mound and went six innings as she struck out six and walked six batters.
