New Haven, Conn. - Albertus Magnus College softball Head Coach Ed Emielita (eighth season) has announced his team's schedule for the upcoming 2018 season. In total, the Falcons will take to the diamond 38 times, highlighted by their annual spring break trip to Myrtle Beach and 16 home contests.

Albertus Magnus is coming off another successful season, finishing 2017 with a program-best 30 wins and a 15-7 mark in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC). Albertus Magnus saw its season come to an end on the final weekend of the conference tournament as the Falcons fell to Suffolk University in the semifinals.

The Falcons open the 2018 season in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and will play a series of eight games over a five day span as part of the Fastpitch Dreams Classic.

Following the tip to the Palmetto State, Albertus Magnus kicks off GNAC play with a road doubleheader at Mount Ida (3/24) before hosting its season opener on March 25th against Simmons. Four days later, they will travel to New Jersey University (2/29) for a non-conference doubleheader then return home to conclude the month of March with a conference doubleheader against Lasell (3/31).

Albertus Magnus hosts its next two opponents at the Shea Softball Complex. It starts with a non-conference doubleheader against Mt. St. Vincents (4/2) followed by a GNAC doubleheader against Anna Maria (4/4). The Falcons then head to Nashua, N.H. for a road conference doubleheader at Rivier (4/7) before returning home to host the next six games, including two conference doubleheaders against Regis (Mass.) (4/8) and Johnson & Wales (4/14) as well as a non-conference doubleheader against Coast Guard.

The Falcons' next string of games come on the road once more. Over an 11 day span, Albertus Magnus will play eight games, all conference doubleheaders, at Saint Joseph's of Maine (4/15), Norwich (4/21), Suffolk (4/22) and Saint Joseph's (Conn.) (4/25).

Albertus Magnus will close out the 2018 regular season with a home doubleheader against Emmanuel (Mass.) on April 28.

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference Softball Championship is set to begin on Tuesday, May 1. The second round will be held on May 3, followed by the semifinals on May 5th and the championship game on May 6th.
