Four Falcons registered double figures as the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team defeated Newbury College 83-69 on Tuesday night in Brookline, Mass.

Sophomore Lianna Carrero (Hamden, Conn.), who was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week on Tuesday, led all scorers with 22 points, tying her season-high tally. Bianca Brown (West Haven, Conn.) added 19 points and seven rebounds in the victory, while Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, Conn.) finished the night with 15 points.

Sarah Boudreau (Pascoag, R.I.) chipped in with her season-high of 10 points, while Annie Raucci (Milford, Conn.) pulled down 10 rebounds, a season-high for her as well.

The non-conference victory gives the Falcons (5-1) their fifth win in six contests. Albertus entered Tuesday night's contest after picking up its first loss of the season at New England College last week on road.

The loss drops Newbury College to 0-4 as the Nighthawks shot 3-of-20 from behind the arc. Catherine O'Connell led Newbury with 14 rebounds and 19 points.

The Falcons led 46-28 at the half as Brown led Albertus with 11 points. In the opening frame, Newbury took a two-point lead at 10-8 at the 14:15 mark before Albertus went on a 15-5 run in a span of 4:44 to take a 23-15 lead. On the night, the Falcons stretched their lead to as much as 23 points with less than 3:10 to play in the contest.

Albertus will host Bay Path College on Sunday, Dec. 4 in non-conference action. Sunday's game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
