Four Falcons scored in double figures as Wilkes slipped past the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team on Saturday by a score of 82-79.

The Falcons had one last look in the final seconds of the contest as Sabrina Rodriguez's (Norwalk, Conn.) three-point field goal attempt was just off the mark as the Falcons could not tie the game.  Freshman Olivia Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.) led all scorers with a career-high 30 points as she shot 10-of-15 from the floor, while pulling down nine boards.  She added a 9-of-11 free throw shooting effort as well.

Junior Chelsea Sherrod (Bridgeport, Conn.) led the Falcons with 12 rebounds, all of which came on the defensive end, while Kelsey Pendagast (Shelton, Conn.) tallied 11 points and nine rebounds.  Olivia Sutherland (Wallingford, Conn.) chipped in with 18 points, while Alexa Riley (Cromwell, Conn.) capped the double-figures for the Falcons with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from behind the arc.

Albertus shot 48.1% (25-52) from the field and out rebounded Wilkes 44-33 on the afternoon.  Wilkes was led by Elena Stambone with 23 points on 9-of-20 shooting.

Today's contest had six tied scores and 17 lead changes.  After the Falcons trailed 46-38 at the halftime break, Albertus battled back in the second half, eventually tying the score at 75 apiece.  The Falcons tied the score and took a 76-75 lead on a pair of Pendagast free throws.  A 7-1 run by Wilkes turned the tables once again as Wilkes took an 82-77 lead and never looked back.

A Bolden lay-up with less than a minute left on the clock cut the Wilkes' lead to three.  Pendagast pulled down a key rebound in the final seconds off of a missed free throw by Wilkes and after a timeout by the Falcons, Albertus got a good look at an attempt to tie up the game.

Bolden shot 4-of-4 from the floor for 10 points in the first half.  Bolden was also named to the All-Tournament Team. The Falcons shot 56.5% (13-23) from the field in the first half.

Albertus will return to New Haven for the Falcons' home opener on Tuesday.  Albertus will host Yeshiva in an 8:00 p.m. contest.  Bring a non-perishable or canned food item for the Albertus Magnus College Department of Athletics food drive.  Everyone who donates will be entered for a chance to win a prize.
