Manhattanville shot 56.7% from the field en route to an 82-60 non-conference victory over the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team on Thursday night in New Haven.
Despite three Falcons in double figures, Albertus fell to 5-7 on the year, while the Valiants improved to 8-4 with the win.
The game opened with back-and-forth play for the first 12 minutes as the Valiants held a 21-20 lead at the 8:01 mark in the frame. Manhattanville then took control of the contest and finished out the half with a 16-3 run to take a 37-23 at the halftime break.
Ashley Raaf led all scorers at the half as she shot 4-of-8 from the floor.
Kelsey Pendagast (Shelton, Conn.) led the Falcons on the night with 13 points before fouling out. Chelsea Sherrod (Bridgeport, Conn.) shot 5-of-7 from the field for 12 points, while Olivia Bolden (South Windsor, Conn.) added 11 points.
The Valiants shot and impressive 65.5% from the floor in the second half and hit four of their seven shots from long range. They led by as many as 29 points with 6:47 left to go in the game and scored 24 points off of 20 Albertus turnovers.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday when they host league foe Saint Joseph's College of Maine in a 1:00 p.m. contest.
