The Falcons earned the hard-fought 1-0 victory when junior defender Lauren Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) played a through ball that bounced off the goal keeper and was finished by Piccirillo for the lone goal of the contest.

The first half featured five shots from Emmanuel including a good scoring chance off the leg of junior midfielder Katelyn Fink (Sanford, Maine) in the 12th minute that was stopped by junior Falcon keeper Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.)  The Falcons had three shots in the scoreless first half.

Following the Albertus goal, Emmanuel sophomore midfielder Maggie Carey (Swampscott, Mass.) tested Case in the 62nd minute but saw her hard shot denied.  Emmanuel held the 10-5 edge in shots in the contest while Albertus held the 5-3 edge in corner kicks.  Case stopped four shots to preserve the shutout victory for the Falcons who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Albertus improves to 6-7-1, 3-3-1 GNAC while Emmanuel drops to 6-8, 4-3 GNAC.

The Falcons return to action on Monday when they travel to Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass. for a GNAC match slated for a 2:00 p.m. kick-off.
