Women's Soccer Shuts Out Bay Path, 3-0

NEW HAVEN, CONN. - The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team earned its second straight shutout of the season as the Falcons defeated Bay Path College, 3-0, Wednesday evening in non-conference play at Celentano Field.

Albertus got going midway through the first stanza as Sophia Austin (East Hartford, Conn.) was set-up by Katherine Raposo (Warwick, R.I.) for her first goal of the season. Raposo scored one for herself 23 seconds later thanks to a feed from Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.).

Senior Cassidy Scofield (Shelton, Conn.) kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard over the first 45 minutes, stopping the visitors only shot attempt, to secure the 2-0 lead at the intermission for the blue-and-white. 

In the second stanza, Raposo got things going once again, scoring her second marker of the game to push the Falcons' lead to three, 3-0. Despite four shot attempts, including one shot on goal, Bay Path was unable to score suffering its first loss of the season.

  • Joanna Feliciano paced the visitors' offense with three shot attempts.
  • Raposo finished the evening with a team-high seven shots, two goals and an assist.
  • Along with Austin, Jaidyn Gillette (Putnam, Conn.), Jordan Kikosicki (East Haven, Conn.), and Amanda McGeehan (Milford, Conn.) tallied two shots for the Falcons. 


  • The last time Albertus played Bay Path was back on Sept. 10, 2014 and the Falcons won by a score of 8-0.
  • Looking back into the all-time series, this is the Falcons' seventh straight shutout against the Wildcats.
  • Scofield earned her third career shutout.

The women's soccer team opens up GNAC play with a home showdown against Lasell University on Friday, Sept. 13 at 5:30 PM at Celentano Field.
