Swimming & Diving Competes in First Postseason Competition in Inaugural Season

Kingston, R.I. - The Albertus Magnus College women's swimming & diving team competed in day two of four of the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships at the University of Rhode Island Tootell Aquatic Center. The Falcons finished in 19th place out of 21.

Following the meet, Coach Lauren Pallone asked the team how they felt about being at a post conference championship meet and they responded, "We are very excited to be here competing at Neisda's after an amazing GNAC's. We are happy with the swims we have had so far and can't wait to see what the rest of the weekend has in store for us."


50 Yard Breaststroke 

  • Megan Anderson (Levittown, N.Y.) finished with 35th place points and a time of 37.33. 

50 Yard Freestyle

  • Ana Lucia Gutierrez Gomez (Hermosillo, Mexico) earned herself a spot in the "A" final, after placing seventh behind a time of 25.26 seconds.
  • Elizabeth Sherry (Quinton, Va.) finished with 24th place points and a new personal best time of 26.79.

400 Yard Medley Relay 

  • The medley consisting of Sherry, Anderson, Gomez, and Crisbeth Castañeda (Guatemala City, Guatemala) squeaked into the "B" final for the race later that evening. 


50 Yard Freestyle

  • Gomez finished in 7th place with a final time of 25.21, collecting 23 total points for the Falcons. 

400 Yard Medley Relay  

  • The medley consisting of Sherry, Anderson, Gomez, and Castañeda finished 15th with a final time of 4:44.54, earning a total of 24 points. 


The women's swimming and diving team returns to action Saturday, February 15 as the Falcons compete in day three of the NEISDA Championships at the University of Rhode Island Tootell Aquatic Center.
