The Albertus Magnus women's tennis team has announced its 2013 schedule as the Falcons are slated to open the year on Saturday, Sept. 7 in New Haven, Conn. against CCNY.
Albertus' will open Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Sept. 21 with a match at Anna Maria College before the program's first home GNAC match on Oct. 5 against Johnson & Wales (R.I.). In between those matches, the Falcons head to Boston to take on 2012 GNAC Regular-Season and Tournament Champion, Simmons College. The Sharks have won the GNAC crown five-straight years.
Beginning Oct. 13, the Falcons will be on a three-match home stand with matches against Division II opponent Post University (Oct. 13), GNAC foe Suffolk (Oct. 14) and Mount Ida (Oct. 19). The Saturday, Oct. 19 match against Mount Ida falls during the college's Fall Fest Weekend and will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Albertus will finish the 2013 GNAC regular season with a match at the College of New Rochelle on Sunday, Oct. 20.
The Falcons produced one of its most successful seasons in the last 10 years in 2012 as they finished the year winning three of their last four matches. The Falcons' four victories mark the most for the program since the late 1990s.
