The Albertus Magnus women's tennis team fell to Simmons Collegge in Boston 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Sharks, who have been undefeated in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play since 2009, gave up just one set to the Falcons as freshman Zaida Velazco fell in No. 1 singles to Racheal Downey 6-1, 6-0.
The Sharks swept the rest of the competition, winning all other singles' matches with pairs of 6-0 sets. In doubles' play, Simmons won all three matches with 8-0 scores.
Simmons improved to 6-2 on the year and 2-0 in GNAC play with the win. The Sharks have now won 34-straight league contests. Albertus falls to 1-4 with the loss.
