The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) has announced its All-Academic Team for the 2014-15 school year. This year, 48 student-athletes from Albertus Magnus College were among the 822 members of the Academic Team from 12 full-time institutions and 10 associate member institutions in the conference.
On Tuesday, May 5, the Albertus Magnus College Department of Athletics held its annual banquet to honor its student-athletes and coaches as well as to celebrate the success from the 2014-15 academic year.

In the opening match against the Lasell Lasers, the Falcons fell by scores of 25-12, 25-22, and 25-23. Led by Caitlin Prete (Milford, Conn.), the Falcons recorded 24 kills in the match. Prete led the Falcons with 11 kills and 10 digs.
The Albertus Magnus women’s volleyball team concluded its 2014 season with a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) losses on Saturday at Johnson & Wales (R.I.) University. The Falcons dropped a 3-0 match to Lasell before falling to JWU 3-0.
Albertus Magnus fell in a pair of volleyball matches on Saturday in New Haven despite two hard fought matches. The Falcons first dropped a 3-0 decision to Norwich by scores of 25-10, 25-21, and 26-24. In their second match of the day, the Falcons fell to Rivier 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-19).
The Albertus Magnus women’s volleyball team fell to the College of New Rochelle 3-0 on Wednesday night in New Rochelle, N.Y. The set scores were 25-17, 25-10 and 25-11. With the win, New Rochelle improved to an impressive 22-7, while the Falcons fell to 4-17 on the year.
The Albertus Magnus women’s volleyball team fell to Anna Maria College 3-0 (25-22, 25-12, 25-16) on Saturday morning to drop to 4-16 overall and 0-7 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. With the win, the AMCats improved to 12-11 on the year and 3-5 in league action. Their 12 wins mark the most in a single season for the program.
The Albertus Magnus women’s volleyball team downed York 3-1 on Saturday, Oct. 11 in a non-conference match-up in New Haven. The Falcons won the first two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-20 before falling in the third set 25-15. In the fourth and final set, the Falcons edged York 25-22 to earn the match victory.
