The Albertus Magnus men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-15) decision to Emmanuel College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Saturday afternoon in Boston.
With the loss, the Falcons fall to 3-11 on the year and 2-8 in league play, while Emmanuel improved to 7-9 on the year and 5-5 in the GNAC standings.
The teams traded points in the opening set before the Saints took the lead for good and a 25-14 first-set victory.
Emmanuel used the first-set win as momentum for the second set as the Saints were led by Austin Cockerill and Barrett Wingard with five kills apiece.
Glenn Johnson (Newington, Conn.) tallied five of his total kills in the set.
In the final set, Emmanuel used a 25-15 win to secure the match victory. Cockerill finished with a match-high seven kills. Johnson finished the day with six kills for the Falcons.
Emmanuel's Sean Baxley dished out 34 assists, while Jorge Rojas tallied nine to end the match in the third set. Justin Tharau (Burlington, Conn.) registered 11 assists for Albertus.
